Tuesday 1st November 2005

Oooh it was cold this morning. I took my car to the garage at 7.15 and walked back home and it was coooold. Hopefully i'll have my car back this week, and about time too!

1st of November today. All change at work too. There's been a bit of a shake up of departments and things so the 3 of us internet programmers are moving down in to the the rest of the programming department. It makes sense i guess, as we've been working a lot closer over the last year or so.

Driving home in the dark now since the clocks went back at the weekend, how depressing.

Friday 4th November 2005

Friday already, I've been finding it harder and harder to update this recently, for a number of reasons. So yesterday afternoon there was a bit of a storm and apparantly it "blew up" a substation near by which sent a huge spike down our line. This spike fried 2 UPS' and did some other damage i think so I could barely do any work yesterday afternoon as it was up and down - although strangely, the email never stopped working for me.

Should be getting my car back today, at least the manager at the garage said that yesterday. It needed a new head - which i'm struggling to believe - but hey, they're paying for it so as long as it's working i don't really care.

Not sure what i'm up to this weekend, it's bonfire night tomorrow night but it sounds like it's gonna be a bit wet.

Tuesday 8th November 2005

Bloody cars. I picked my car up on saturday and didn't really use it. Then went shopping on sunday and noticed that it was playing up a bit. When easing off the gas it would jutter (that's the technical term for it). It seemed like the same problem it had last time i got it back from them after they did the head gasket.

I'm so bored of moaning about my car on here, so i really can't be bothered to go in to any more detail.

In other news, i've moved downstairs at work now. Bit weird, but i'm starting to get used to it. It's a pleasent change to have lots of people around - it's like when i worked on the help desk.

Oh, is it quiz night tonight already?!

Wednesday 9th November 2005

Woo! We won last night!! There's a definate pattern showing now, it seems every other week we win, each odd week since we started. We'll do our best to break the pattern next week.

I was drinking last night and am paying for a it a bit this morning. We had quite a few in the pub doing the quiz then Laura and I moved on to Chicagos for a couple more - and ended up on the dance floor, just the two of us. I needed a bit of fun after the last couple of weeks i've had!

Friday 11th November 2005

My shoulder has been in pain for a week now... i think i might have trapped something when we moved all the desks and stuff downstairs. I think it's getting a bit better, i managed to do my usual workout again last night without it giving me too much trouble.

I got a new album the other day, by Le Tigre, called The Island. I was actually looking for their debut album, Hot Topic, but i couldn't find it anywhere. I was listening to it in my car on the way home last, probably not the best album to listen to while driving... It was all good till they started getting real political and spent a whole song going on about peace. I also got an album by Interpol, but haven't had a chance to listen to that yet.

Monday 14th November 2005

Oh it's cold this morning, and i haven't even left home yet. Not a bad weekend, i completely blitzed my apartment saturday morning, cleaned from top to bottom. I'm not sure why, it's coming off the market soon till after xmas but i just needed to do it.

Yesterday a few of us went bowling. I hadn't been for ages, probably over a year. Got warmed up on the first game and came second then won the second one somehow with a very poor score. Out of the 10 lanes by us there was only us and one other group with the barriers down... where's the fun in that?! People don't even try, just lob the ball down and let it bounce off. There's nothing quite rolling the ball down and it going straight off the edge.

Wednesday 16th November 2005

I needed waking up, but walking in the cold wasn't what i had in mind. We came out of Tescos this morning and Dads key fob decided not to work, batteries i guess. We tried the "code" in the door that's supposed to mobilise it but it didn't work. So we started walking. Luckily someone drove past and gave us a lift the rest of the way.

Late night last night, think i saw the time as about 2 when i went to bed. We lost the quiz, even week so it wasn't much of a surprise. I wasn't drinking last night, thank god, but Dave and Laura were. I watched them do some karaoke - no way i was getting up there sober.

I get a well needed lay in tomorrow.

I should have taken today off as well, what was i thinking?..

Yesterday was really good, so many cars, so many cars i can't afford. The show was brilliant and I got a ton of photos. At least it's friday today, roll on the weekend, i just want to sleep!

That's all for now, here's the photos from yesterdays MPH '05 car show

Tuesday 22nd November 2005

It must be time for my annual rant about stupid drivers and driving in fog? Yeah, it is. So the last few days it's just been thick fog. Now, when you're out in the country on your own, or on a motorway where you can't really see anyone then ok, put your rear fog lights on. But in the middle of town, when you're all 10 feet away from each other - at the most - what the hell is the point of blinding the person behind you? You really think I can't see your car? It just takes a tiny bit of common sense, just because they're called 'fog lights' doesn't mean you need them on because it's foggy.

I stayed up last night and watched The Fifth Element last night, for some reason whenever that movie is on I always watch it. So i hit snooze a few times this morning before getting out of bed in to the cold - i may have to turn the heating further up... At least there was no ice on the car this morning.

They're predicting snow on thursday or friday.

Wednesday 23rd November 2005

Damn, the quiz last night pretty much sucked. There is a team that we always beat, by a mile, but last week they brought along some of their friends and beat us last week. But then they did have like 12 people. They claimed they had 2 teams, but were sat right next to each other... This week they had 13 people, all on one big table and "2 teams". Funny, one of the teams won. We're going to leave that one alone now, our next quiz qill be on a sunday down the road, they even have some worthwhile cash winnings!

I'm going down to London again this week, on saturday. Laura and I are going to see Chicago. I can't remember the last time i went to the theatre, must have been when i was at school. Should be really good, although i did find out last night that Darius (sp?) is in it...

Sunday 27th November 2005

Wow, the show yesterday was absolutely fantastic, i highly recommend going to see Chicago. It was on at the Adelphi theatre in London. Like i said before, i hadn't been to the theatre for a long, long time and it's brilliant. There's just something about the whole experience that's not like anything else. Darius was very good in it too, which took us a bit by surprise to be honest. The girl who played Roxy was awesome, she had the part nailed. We did some shopping down there too, well, really Laura did the shopping. I've never seen so much money spent in such a short time! She bought some nice things though and i managed to buy my mom's xmas present too.

Today I walked, yes, you read that right, walked up town to do some shopping. I bought myself a new jacket, all my xmas cards that i need to get and almost bought lots of other things.

Just about to go out to the pub, could do with a rest.

Monday 28th November 2005

So last night we went to the pub and tried out a different pub quiz. It was only the two of us, was a bit late notice, but hey, we still came joint first! And pocketed ourselves £75!

I've just spent the night transferring my site to a different server and a bunch of other ones. So i'm hoping that this actually works...
