Had to come to work in a shirt. It's press day, even thought the first thing the customers see when they come in is someones busted up old car with flat tyres...

Today i am trying to win £25,000 on Chiltern FM's secret sound. I think the secret sound is someone tightening their shoe laces, the clue's they've given are feet, tongue and sole. Hopefully they'll pick me and i'll get it right. Could pay off our debts and afford a holiday and a new car, that would be nice.

Now i'm pissed off. I phoned, i left my name, number blah blah blah. They picked someone else, they guessed with my guess and they won £25,000.

i'm not feeling good. i need to throw or punch something.

It's been roasting today, the house is like an oven. We've got all the windows open and a fan blowing but nothing really helps.

I'm in a pretty good mood considering i've had to get a new harddisk and reinstall everything today. The old one didn't die, but the install of windows did, decided it was easier to get a cheap, small, harddrive and install a fresh copy of windows on there. £eems to be running ok.

Today broke the heat record, 37.9C in Heathrow. And they said it might still go up!

Stuggled to find things to do today, went to go to thorpe park but the M25 was solid. Then decided to go to Ashridge, so walked around for a bit till we couldn't sweat any more.

damn, i've been busy today! it's like it's all come at once, as it always does. Gone weeks doing bits and pieces here and there and now i've got a whole load of crap to do. 4 websites (and 2 personal ones), some print work and another php project.

it's good though, rather be busy then have nothing to do.

*gets headache from php/mysql*

I had a screaming headache yesterday, it got so bad that i started feeling sick. Happens more often recently, usually when i wake up i'll have it. I sat looking at the same screen at work for about an hour but just couldn't concentrate so had to go home. The doctor was as helpful as any other time, he said to keep an eye on it and if it keeps happening to go back, try to find a pattern in it he said...

We're going to see Freedy vs Jason week after next so looked everywhere for either the first nightmare on elm street or first friday 13th but couldn't find them anywhere. Finally went to the small music/video shop on the high street and found the first nightmare on elm street for £10. can't be bad.

Had a good weekend, helped my brother move some of his stuff for his new place and went shopping (argh).

Yesterday, we thought we'd make the most of our Tussauds annual passes and go to Warwick castle, just cause we haven't been before. What a dissapointment, it was rubbish. After getting through the traffic to get into the car park we walked straight in (annoying the people queing for tickets ;)) and it was like being at a theme park, you had to queue to get into places. A queue to see the dungeon, 25mins wait, and one room to look at - must have been in there less than 5mins.

We still had a good laugh though

Went to go to the cinema yesterday, were going to see Legally Blonde 2, but we got there and the queue was out the door. Bit strange for just a tuesday night.

So instead we used the new Blockbusters machine outside Tesco's, just put in your credit card and choose the dvd you want to rent. We got Final Destination 2, not too bad, pretty cheesey. And where the hell do they come up with these ideas of how to kill people!?!

Saturday 23rd August 2003

It's a bank holiday weekend, and i need it after the busiest week for ages! We can't decide what we want to do. Though it depends on what motorway we want to sit on becaue they've decided to close a lot of the railways for maintenance and this is while the reading festival is on, the notting hill festival and other things. It would be manic on the motorways.

I think we're gonna go shopping today, and go to the pictures tonight to see American Pie: The Wedding. Tomorrow, not sure, we thought about going down to london but theres no trains, then we thought about Alton Towers, but that's a lot of motorway.

We went to see a mortgage advisor yesterday. The mortgage we can afford, but what's with all the other crap, and stamp duty?! wtf?! just sounds like the government trying to take more money from us.

Should find out today what sort of figure we'll be looking at and then we can start looking properly. Don't want to look at places we can't afford, that'll just be depressing. It'll be nice to live in a place of our own, where we don't have to ask to hang a picture on the wall!
